Utrecht: Energy saving and Electricity labelling in municipal buildings |

Already in 1996 Utrecht started an energy saving campaign in the own municipal buildings. With ’good housekeeping’ Utrecht managed to save 12% in heating compared to 1996 levels. Utrecht also wished labelling of the purchased electricity. Utrecht preferred to buy renewable electricity and electricity produced by combined heat power instead of electricity generated by oil or (brown)coal.
