Presentation of the organisation:

Le Parc régional Chasseral résulte d’une volonté partagée de promouvoir le développement durable de la région en valorisant et préservant son précieux patrimoine naturel, mais aussi son riche patrimoine culturel, rural, industriel, artisanal, bâti... Ce n'est donc ni une réserve naturelle, ni un parc d'attraction touristique, mais une plate-forme de concertation entre tous les partenaires intéressés pour préserver et valoriser à la fois ce patrimoine régional commun.

La démarche proposée est aujourd'hui soutenue par les autorités cantonales et fédérales. Le Parc régional Chasseral est candidat en vue d’obtenir le statut de « Parc d’importance nationale ».

Il est important de noter qu'un parc naturel régional ne génère aucune contrainte administrative nouvelle sur le territoire concerné. Il n'a aucun pouvoir réglementaire. Son outil de travail est la contractualisation avec les partenaires concernées.

Le Parc poursuit trois objectifs :

- Préserver et mettre en valeur la nature et le paysage.

- Renforcer les activités économiques axées sur le développement durable.

- Développer l'information, l'éducation à l'environnement, les partenariats et la recherche.
