Présentation de l'organisation :
The Bradford district is made up of the city itself and the towns of Keighley, Bingley, Shipley and Ilkley. Two thirds of the district is rural and includes Haworth and Ilkley Moors, yet 5 million people live within an hour’s drive of the city centre. Of the 481,000 inhabitants of the district, 22% are from ethnic minority communities.
Bradford was once the centre of the world’s woollen/textile industry, but now has strong manufacturing, financial, customer service and Asian business sectors. Tourism in the district generates over €580M each year and employs over 10,000 people. Tourist attractions include the National Museum of Film Photography and Television, the World Heritage site of Saltaire, and Haworth - the home of the Bronte sisters.
The City of Bradford Metropolitan District Council has six key priorities and is delivering improvements in: education, environment, community cohesion, economic prosperity, health and wellbeing, and community safety. A number of regeneration projects and major redevelopments have been recently completed, and others are under way.
