UK User’s Club 15th October 2009
The Milton Keynes Council Climate Change Team organised the second UK National Display day on the 15th of October. This was attended by over 50 people from 30 organisations, mostly local authorities. It included presentations and workshops, on the theme of giving delegates a better understanding of national issues relating to both energy and carbon efficiency and of the Display and DEC posters.
The keynote speech covered the UK Carbon Reduction Commitment and associated Carbon Trust Standard energy efficiency accreditation scheme. Peter Schilken gave an update on the improvements to the Display poster and on progress towards the revision of the Energy Performance in Buildings Directive. There were also presentations from central and regional government representatives giving a UK perspective of the process. On a practical note, there was an excellent presentation giving hints and tips for working with managers, caretakers and school children.
Material is being made available for those interested in terms of presentations, and notes from workshops. You can download the presentations here:
