ENERGY INTO PLAY 2010: Let’s play being energetically more efficient starting from 23rd of October in Udine

Udine and hundreds of other European and worldwide countries are committed in improving energy efficiency in the next ten years within 2020. Using energy in a better way will allow us to do more things, saving money and create new job opportunities. In our everyday life we always have to make the same question: “Can we obtain the same result by consuming less energy?” asks Furio Honsell, Mayor of the City of Udine.
The municipality of Udine is committed in many ways to promote the efficiency in the use of energy. Supporting the “Covenant of Mayor” initiative is the most important action in this sense: it will allow the city to play a leading role in the 20-20-20 European commitment for the reduction of greenhouse gases emission, increasing the use of renewable energy sources and decreasing energy consumption. This means not only to make interventions on buildings, plants and public transports, but also to undertake communication actions, in order to make aware and involve old and young citizens.
The municipal administration invites anyone to join “Energy in play,” the 23rd of October, 2010. In the scene of Piazza Libertà will take place a great event with meetings, workshops, games and activities addressed to students and adults. Lots of municipal offices, no-profit associations, and private activities will explain how to save energy in many different and funny ways.
