European schools take on a new energy challenge!

Until May 2011, schools from all over the EU, Norway, Croatia, Iceland and Liechtenstein can work on putting their schools’, and their own, energy use habits on track…

Launched in September 2010 the U4energy competition, www.U4energy.eu, is a highly visible initiative financed by the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Energy. Participating schools have the chance to win a prize and gain recognition at European level.

Deadline for submission of entries is 16 May 2011.

Schools are invited to enter the competition under one or more of the following categories:

a) best energy efficiency measures at school;
b) best pedagogical actions to raise awareness of efficient energy use; and
c) best awareness raising campaign on energy efficiency.

U4energy is an excellent opportunity for local actors to support their schools in winning a prize at national and/or at European level, while also meeting their own ambitious energy efficiency targets.

Don’t forget to tell your local schools to get on board!

Find out more information about this initiative on the U4energy website.
You can contact the U4energy team at U4energy @ eun.org.
