The 22nd March was the deadline for the 2011 TCA Award. We were delighted to receive 12 applications, all of them of good quality, from diverse cities and regions.

They were: Cascais (PR), Cork County (IR), Galway (IR), Helsinki (FI), Isla (MA), Lille (FR), Lviv (UV), Oeiras (PR), REGEA (CR), SIEEEN (FR), Vanves (FR) and Velenje (SL).

In the gloomy morning of the 30th March we organised an internal meeting to select the 6 finalists, which proved not to be an easy job for us.
After a difficult pre-selection process, the following cities are chosen as finalists:

• Oeiras (PR)

• Vanves (FR)

• Cork County (IR)

• Lille (FR)

• Velenje (SL)

• Cascais (PR)

Next step will be for each finalist to present their application in front of our International Jury during the late afternoon hours of the 12th of April in Brussels, Belgium, in the frame of high profile European Union Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) event.
The official Award Ceremony will take place the following day, in the afternoon of the 13th of April in Brussels.
