The 15th anniversary conference of the Czech Healthy Cities association (HCCZ) took place on the 4th of December in Prague. Almost 200 hundred participants from the Czech Republic and abroad witnessed HCCZ become a collective member of Energie-Cités. During the thematic workshop dedicated to sustainable energy on the local level the Display Campaign was introduced by Energie-Cités representative Ms. Jana Cicmanová. Practical experience of the Display Campaign implementation was presented by Mr. Paul Isbell, energy manager of the City of Bristol. Participants were also fortunate to hear Mr. Bo Frank, mayor of the City of Växjö explain how this member of Energie-Cités is aiming to become fossil fuel independent and the greenest city in Europe.
At the very end of the workshop the Czech Display User’s Club was officially launched as well. The national coordinator that will assist Czech cities and municipalities will be Mr. Vojtech Kucera from HCCZ with support of experts from Porsenna association. The first three Czech Healthy Cities should join the Campaign at the beginning of next year.
