Buildings: Flagship on Energy Efficiency, Let’s make the new EU legislation deliver
The European Commission, DG Energy and Transport together with the Build-up Initiative is organising a special conference on February 10, 2009 in Brussels and is within the EU Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW).
The conference will focus on energy efficiency of buildings and aims to:
Present the recent proposal for a recast of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (2002/91/EC)
Discuss how to speed up its adoption and implementation
Demonstrate the role of buildings for EU economic recovery and discuss the financing possibilities
Present the new Commission Build-Up Initiative
High-level speakers and experts from the European Parliament, EU Member States, European Commission, industry, banks, property owners and other stakeholders will discuss these issues and answer your questions.
The Role of Buildings in Meeting Europe’s 2020 Goals EuroACE is organising a conference on the 12th of February showcasing the potential of buildings in helping Europe to meet its goals on climate change, energy security and job creation. A first public debate will also be held with the key MEPs working on the first reading agreement of the recasting of the EU’s Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.
