The Role of Buildings in Meeting Europe’s 2020 Goals’
On February 12, during Sustainable Energy Week in Brussels, the European Alliance of Companies for Energy Efficiency in Buildings hosted an event entitled ‘The Role of Buildings in Meeting Europe’s 2020 Goals’. Pedro Guertler of EuroACE presented an overview of the Display Campaign, with a focus on the commercial sector pilot, to an audience of policy-makers including MEPs developing the proposals for strengthening the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive. Participants felt encouraged by the effectiveness of voluntary action and communication of sustainable energy in buildings contributing to space being carved out for a stronger EPBD. The event concluded with an open floor discussion on the future of the Directive with three key MEPs.
