Finnish Energy Agencies interested in Display®
On the 25th of March 2009 Finnish Energy Agencies and the National Energy Agency Motiva visited the City of Helsinki PWD-Construction Management Division to hear more about Display. The visitors had already had their first taste of Display in December 2008 in Muhos, in Northern Finland during the Finnish Energy Agencies’ regular meeting (see newsletter 15).
In March Ulla Soitinaho Provided participants with an overview of the Finish national energy certification system and the Display® label, the differences and the similarities, the good and bad sides and the possibilities to use Display (or official energy certification) as an effective communication tool. The Display label was regarded as being more “efficient” in stimulating people to change their behaviour and to show the effects of the energy saving measures carried out than the national certification.
Helsinki’s “Mr Display” Timo Posa showed how easy it is to make the Display® label by using the calculation tool with an example. The agencies were encouraged to carry out an online demonstration via Display calculation demonstration tool to see by themselves how really easy it is to produce Display labels.
Agencies left the PWD Construction Management Division very enthusiastic. We are keeping our fingers crossed to see if more Finnish local authorities join Display!
